“The maritime theme, starring the sand Nativity scene in La Pineda”

The sculptures in the sand Nativity that each year attracts thousands of visitors up to La Pineda start to get shape. This time, the scenario is Park Pinar del Perruquet. The work is coordinated by the company Arenas Posibles from Ulldecona, who has won the tender for the event. At the same time, artists from England, Ukraine, Lithuania and Catalonia work these days on the sculptural set. They model and sculpt from between 400 and 500 tones of sand, which occupy an area of about 200 square meters.

And the hands of two Spanish sculptors, Sergi Ramirez Perez and Montserrat Cuesta Marin, who share year of birth (1967), city (Barcelona) and profession and business, as both integrate Arenas Posibles. It is a society dedicated to sand sculptures leading this art community since 1988.

Sand sculpture community has become stronger on beaches as Sitges or Casteldefells in recent years. Despite of that, sculptors as Sergi Ramirez and Montserrat Cuesta,who make up Arenas Posibles company, have dedicated over ten years to the service of the sculpture.
